We love to get outside here at Little Learners, we are very fortunate to have 3 outdoor spaces which offer excellent learning opportunities for our children.

Our outdoor space consists of 2 garden areas and a forest area!

We aim to access the outdoors frequently. We aim to offer outdoor experiences for children that will be enjoyable, creative, adventurous and stimulating.

There are many benefits to outdoor play, it allows children to:

  • develop their social skills through interactions
  • promotes their independence through understanding and assessing risks
  • enhances their critical thinking through problem solving
  • strengthens their imagination skills while investigating new materials and environments

All while encouraging a healthy and active life-style!

Here at Little Learners we are continually expanding our outdoor play area, providing new learning opportunities for our children, our train is a new addition to our forest and has been extremely popular with all the children. At the moment the children are able to freely explore our tree house, polytunnel, climbing frame, summer house, tree maze and wooden hut.

The Care Inspectorate inspection contains the following information:

“Since the previous inspection, work had been done to develop the outdoor play space.”

“Parents were all very positive about how much use was made of the outdoor area to offer the children access to physical activities and fresh air.”
