FAQ

Do you have a waiting list?

Yes. Demand for places is very high and parents/carers are therefore advised to apply in advance so they can be placed on the list at the earliest opportunity.

How are staff vetted?

An enhanced Disclosure check is carried out on all staff members prior to them starting in the Centre. Prospective staff are also required to nominate two referees from whom a written reference will be obtained and rigorously checked. The majority of our staff are recruited locally and are therefore personally known to us which provides additional knowledge of staff in supporting our recruitment procedures.

What security measures are in place at the Centre?

There is an entry phone system in place at the Centre which is operated exclusively by our staff. A staff member also greets parents at each side at the start of each session. Children can only be collected by parents/carers nominated on each child’s registration form. Parent/carers are required to sign their child in and out at the start and end of their session. Staff ratios are maintained at the correct level at all times.

Do I need to bring a packed lunch for my child?

Yes packed lunches are required for children who are with us over the lunch period (12-1pm). Parents/carers are encouraged to follow our Healthy Eating Policy, a copy of which is available on request and also on display at our entrance.

The Centre provides a snack in the morning and afternoon which includes a small glass of milk or water. Water is available throughout the session.

What do I need to bring along each day?

For younger children an adequate supply of nappies, wipes and cream are needed. Each child has their own tray where they can be left and staff will let you know when supplies are running low.

It is also advisable to leave a change of clothes for all children in case they have an accident during the session. Each child has their own peg with a bag provided to leave things in. Soft shoes are to be worn inside the Centre, slippers or soft trainers are ideal.

Children should come with suitable outdoor clothing e.g. warm coat, hat, gloves in winter and sun cream and hat when the sun is out.
